A multi-part public artwork, The Enhancer Project consists of

public conversations about the ethics of pharmacological neuroenhancement,

a series of publicly distributed, brain-shaped viewfinders,

an informative and participatory blog,

and an installation piece for exhibit.

 

CONVERSATIONS:

The Oct. 8th conversation was at the Nashville Public Library.

Outlaw discussed how “smart drugs” may affect creativity and innovation with panelists

Michael Sims, Dr. Jeffrey Bishop, Jeffrey Schall, and Dr. John Greer.

The Sept. 17th conversation was at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.

Outlaw discussed the pros and cons of using pharmacological neuroenhancement with

Nita Farahany, Dr. Jeffrey Bishop, Michael Bess, and Dr. Howard Kirshner.

Audience members were invited to participate at each talk.

Outlaw made The Enhancer Project for ART MAKES PLACE,

a year-long project whereby artists made temporary, community

and performance-based artworks for public spaces in Nashville.

AMP projects will be exhibited at the Nashville Public Library Art Gallery, Oct. 17 - March 26, 2010.

The project culminates with a full-color critical catalog to be published Feb., 2010.
